Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry seeks to serve youth, parents of youth, and adult workers with youth so they may experience a deeper relationship with God through Christ and become God's servant people in the world.

Our youth enjoy various ministry-oriented activities to participate in throughout the year. These include recreational activities, fellowship opportunities, Bible Studies, and opportunities for mission work. In the spring, they participate in Youth Week, assuming leadership roles in Sunday School classes and worship. In addition, youth participate in various fellowship activities and retreat experiences during the year. Passport Youth Camping with a Mission is a summer highlight.

Our youth participate in a variety of fellowships throughout the year. These fellowships provide avenues for youth and youth leaders to relax and refresh themselves through recreation and leisure while helping them to grow in their ability to live in right relationship with one another. They also provide excellent opportunities for youth to invite their friends, who may not have church homes of their own, to participate with them in a casual setting. Following these fellowship opportunities, perhaps these visitors will feel more comfortable participating in Bible study, worship, and other regularly scheduled activities with our youth. The youth are encouraged to practice being followers of Jesus Christ as they invite others to participate in the life of our church family.

Our purpose.

  • Connect.

We connect together in many ways: worship, prayer, service, and fellowship. It is essential that we build a relationship with God, our peers, the church, and our families. Connecting reminds us of the priority of creating positive, long-lasting relationships with people at church, in our schools and community, and at home. We connect first with God, for it is God that makes it possible for us to build meaningful relationships with others; they, in turn, help us connect to a church family. These interconnected relationships enable us to welcome people who are not yet part of our church or not yet connected to God.

  • Grow.

As we grow in our understanding and knowledge of the Bible, we are able to begin to understand how it makes a daily difference in our lives. Gaining knowledge is vital, but we need more than information. True discipleship means discovering something fresh and inspiring in a passage we have read hundreds of times—and acting to apply it.

  • Serve.

In our service, we are reminded of our responsibility to serve alongside others. Our church is full of service opportunities - Thursday community meal to house repair and yard work for members to hosting the youth group to leading a small group. We are needed to serve together in order for our church to thrive in our community. God has gifted and empowers us to serve and multiplies our efforts in exponential ways. We will serve together!

  • Go.

As we go, we are called to develop relationships and discern when it is time to talk about our faith. Going feeds our desire to experience firsthand God’s work in our lives and the lives of others. We also recognize in our going that we are one instrument God is using. Go is different from Serve; Go is our individual carrying out how we have connected, grown, and served together into our individual lives as we participate in the world.
